'Minerita' wins the Goya for Best Short Documentary

02/10/2014

It’s the first Kimuak short to get it

The short film Minerita by Raúl de la Fuente was honored as the Best Documentary Short at the 28th edition of the Goya Awards, given by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences of Spain.

Thus, Minerita becomes the first film to get this award while being in Kimuak – Pregunta por mí by Bego Vicario won the Goya for Best Animated Short in 1997, before entering Kimuak’s first catalogue in 1998.

Virgen Negra, the previous documentary short of Raúl de la Fuente was also nominated to the Goya in 2012, but on that occasion the winner was Regreso a Viridiana by Pedro González Bermúdez.

We hope that this award will help bring well deserved attention to the women who live and suffer in inhuman infernos.
